Top Programming Languages 2025
IEEE Spectrum has again looked at programming languages in use today. This time they have expanded it to also include a review of jobs being advertised for programmers.
Lets look at the input from IEEE members. And the winner is clear. Python is the Top Programming Language for 2025. And 50+ years later C is still hanging in there. The high Java use means there is a lot of web and business application development happening.

Now lets look at what jobs are being advertised. Java, SQL and Javascript jump a lot showing there is still strong demand for programmers in those areas. And C# and C++ use and new jobs advertised are at the same rates showing strong support there.

So while Python is the clear winning for IEEE members and jobs but the gap narrows a lot in the jobs market.
